Re: How many situps can yall do?
I want to make another point on this.
I read guys doing 200 odd situps a day - you're probably not excersing proper form.
i actually took a major interest in bodybuilding back when i used to go to the gym - i had a big book of body building by Joe Weider (founder of modern body building inc. the Mr Olympia comp.). it contains many routines and full excercise patterns for all different muscle groups - including abs. if you are doing proper crunches, and excercising perfect form - you dont need to do that many. remember you need to give your muscles time to engage in hypertrophy. If it was me - i'd do 20 each week night, with breaks over weekend, then increase in ten for the week. lie on the floor - if you have a ab roller (where you sit up and it rolls up with you), use that, then put your legs over your head - on a chair or bed. only crunch - if you do a full situp, you'll be missing a large part of your lower abdominals.
i then do half the number going up and down - conventional, with legs in air, then second half twisting alternately. this helps to work on the intercostals and will improve your abs strength and look.
