    Boxing equipment questions

I'm looking to buy some new equipment, would like to the pros and cons of the products. I prefer using the name brands and nice looking equipment as I have the money to invest...in some cases, I am willing to make exceptions. Any advice/knowledge is appreciated!

I own the Reyes double eng bag with the single teardrop target, but it is worn out and beat up. I was thinking about getting this one as it's replacement: http://www.ringside.com/DETAIL.ASPX?ID=24723

I'm also looking to buy some punch mitts. I own a pair of these:
http://www.ringside.com/detail.aspx?ID=25846 but they are too hard and if you are holding the mitts for a heavy puncher, it will consistantly bend your wrist back. I'm interested if anyone knows the type Floyd Mayweather Sr. is wearing in the recent 24/7 episodes? Fairly open on what to buy here, as I have very little in mind as to what I will choose.

I am also looking to buy a medicine ball, was wondering which brands and sizes would be best for me. I don't know much about specific medicine balls, so any advice here is appreciated.

Finally, I need to buy some boxing shoes. Open to any suggestions here.

As far as a double end bag, You don't need anything special. Just make sure you tighten the 2 cords on each end so that it is fast enough to give you a bit of problems. You just don't want a slow predictable double end bag, as that is a tool to build combination speed/timing and nothing else.

As far as mitts, I personally like the mitts that have an arched cuff in them because if you are the one doing the holding it just feels a whole lot better...The punches "catch" right into that zone just right as opposed to the flat ones. But thats just my personal taste.
El cuarto de Tula, le cogiò candela.
Se quedò dormida y no,apagò la vela.

Que llamen a Ibrahim Ferrer, que busquen los boberos!

Que yo creo que Tula lo que quieres es que le apaguen el fuego.

Yes, I have a nice double eng bag now, but it wont hold inflation longer than 10 minutes...so usually I train with it deflated, which makes it even more difficult. I was interested in a double teardrop because it has a target for the body and I usually just hit the cord below the bag, which throws off the timing even if you land clean and without power. I think that if you have a double teardrop, it could help with a greater variety of combinations while still being a tool for timing and reflexes. So, can you tell me if this is in fact the case? Or is there something I am missing?

This is what I was thinking. So if I can't find any info on the mitts that Floyd Sr. has been using, it looks as if I will be buying the thicker ones that you refer to. I can foresee a possible problem with the thicker mitts, and that's the bulkiness. The mitts Floyd Sr. uses are very slim and seem to fit right to his hands so he doesn't take the force of the blow to his hand/wrist.

I know its a bit of a weird reply. I'm just putting my thoughts down looking for comments and trying to get the best equipment for me. Thanks for the help.

    Re: Boxing equipment questions

I did Muay Thai for years so the boxing gloves I've grown accustomed to are Twins. I'm thinking of switching to Ringside or Everlast. Any advice?
