Default Are We Underestimating The Beating Mijares Took?

Do you think this guy will be the same? He took nine rounds of full fledged, thudding power shots to the face and body which is a credit to his toughness. But do you think we will see the same Mijares again?

This probably wasn't quite on the level of the beating that Vargas recieved from Trinidad, but it wasn't too far off either. Vic's power may have increased moving up in weight if he was draining in the previous division.

I'll hold of from making a definite statement until I see him against a legitimate top contender again. But it definitely could be a career changer. He got his ass whooped, to put it lightly.

He got his ass handing to him fo sho. But that's his fault for smirking and underestimating Vic. He wasn't serious and probably was on these forums listening to Amsterdam predictions. So he didnt train like he should had done

Do you guys see him as an arrogant boxer? Was he different last night than normal in this department?

I just take the confidence to be his personality, not really a bad type of arrogance that is a turn off as a fan.

I couldn't believe my eyes watching that fight. Vic completely took him out of his game and actually outboxed him. That's something I never thought I would ever say

I think he'll come back better than ever. He's still young and def has the goods. It's just a matter of coming back mentally and realizing his mistakes. I'm sure he'll NEVER underestimate anyone ever again.

I rewatched Nonito fight with Vic this morning and I'm even more impressed with Donaire now then before even though I always liked Nonito as a fighter.

I don't know man for the weight he is already getting up there at 27. Still, you are probably right he should have another good few years ahead of him. Problem is, can he beat Darchynian at that weight? Or should he take a few come back fights, let Donaire perhaps beat Vic, and then take Donaire..

I hear you Benny, I love watching Donaire. But did you see him last night? I actually ordered that card just to see Nonito

Needless to say I was a bit disappointed. Should I blame his lackluster performance on ring rust? Or did he too underestimate his opposition?

Now that he's with Top Rank I really hope he becomes A LOT more active. The guy obviously has talent, I'd like to see him reach his potential.

I think he knows just like the rest of us that he's more skilled than Vic.

He can't let Vic's toughness and determination overcome his skillset. He needs to stick to his gameplan and not get suckered into a brawl. I think that's where everything went wrong for him and I'm sure he knows it himself.

I personally think that Vic would want to avenge his loss to Donaire 1st. He's got to be riding high right now and thinks he can take on anybody. Once Nonito shakes off the rust a bit more, I think that he'll beat Vic all over again.

Seriously, what was he thinking?

Did anyone see the pre fight meetings? Were these two talking shit to each other? Was there major hate going on? I'm just surprised to see Mijares easily get lured out of his comfort zone.

I need to see this fight again.

They were holding hands at the weighin like they were friends. Vic did a great job, but Mirajes could had made this easier. But hey "Brown Pride" I guess

No Mijares is ok, but I don't see him beating Darchinyan to tell you the truth. He was so extremely uncomfortable in there with Darchinyan's power that he couldn't even establish his epic jab...He was like paralyzed in there completely. He fought brave for staying in the pocket for sure but I just don't know about a rematch.

Mijares stock has gone way down in my view because he did'nt even win a single round, but don't be surprise to see Mijares take an immediate rematch.
