Default Where does Andrew Golota rank on a list of most talented heavyweight...

of all time?....Does he make your top 20 or possibly top10?...or does his many quit jobs prevent you from ranking him in any list of admiration?

Not even close to top 25 as far as talent goes IMO. Very good size with solid skills during his prime, but he never had truly great talent or potential. He had real potential to be a good champion though, but his mental weaknesses messed all of that up.

Anybody else giving Ray Austin a very good chance of beating the old Golota tomorrow? He seems to be in very good shape and I think his style should give Golota some big issues. It's pick'em IMO.

Top 20 ... Top 10...

Seriously, he is so inconsistent it isn't funny. He never came close to doing anything or showing anything in the ring IMO that would warrant that sort of a rating.

If your talking all time, there are so many other guys who would rank higher, especially when your talking about talent that was never fulfilled to the full extent.

I guess everything has already been said regarding peoples feelings.

Okay let me try to slightly switch up the question and ask how about of the past 20 years of heavyweight boxing?..Where do you then rank him in terms of talent?

On his best night? One of the most talented super heavyweights. Awesome jab when he got it pumping.

CHENGDU, China -- Ray Austin of the United States earned a victory over Andrew Golota on Friday when the Polish fighter declined to come out for the second round of their non-title WBC heavyweight bout.

Austin knocked down Golota only 10 seconds into the bout between former title contenders promoted by Don King. Golota hit the deck a second time in the round, but referee Mike Griffin ruled it a slip.

Golota complained of an injury to his left biceps apparently from the first round, officials said.

"It feels great to redeem myself," said Austin, who lost a heavyweight title fight last year to Vladimir Klitschko. "I didn't get to show all that I wanted, but I'm happy I won."

There were three other fights on the card.

In a WBC strawweight title fight, Juan Palacios of Nicaragua won a seventh-round TKO over Teruo Misawa of Japan when the referee stopped the fight 2:28 in the round.

Marco Antonio Barrera of Mexico Sammy Ventura of Mexico on a fourth-round TKO of their lightweight fight and Devon Alexander of the United States improved to 16-0 with a fourth-round TKO over Lee Sun-haeng of South Korea.

Alexander is the WBC's No. 1 title contender at super lightweight and is in line for a title fight with Timothy Bradley.

The fight card in Chengdu coincided with a World Boxing Council convention being held in the city.

Why do I fucking hold out hope for Golota?....For some reason I always think he is going to do something productive with his career and quits once again.

Mods it would'nt bother me if you deleted this ridiculous thread, feel free to delete it, because Golota is fucking waste of talent.
