I'm on. And I would love to see Haye KTFO all the HW's out there, except for Povetkin of course. I have pretty low hopes for him though.. his chin at CW was terrible and unless it improves, he's screwed.

Meh.... I think he is good, not great. He got really over rated after beating Enzo... Who was really untested and stylistically was a good match up for Haye. Jean Mormeck is pretty limited, and gave Haye a lot of trouble with his pressure, something he clearly doesn't deal with well. I reckon Haye will end up getting startched by the top end heavies, and will go back down.
A fight vs Adamek would be excellent. Adamek is WIDE open to the right hand (he literally couldn't stop one vs Briggs haha) but is still a very solid fighter, with a chin that is just absolute granite. Would be a very exciting bout i think. If the chin of Adamek holds out, i could see him giving Haye a lot of trouble later on as Haye tires and gets sloppy defensively. Adamek is a very solid fighter, with some great intangibles. Slightly under rated since the loss to Dawson. |

I wish David Haye would have fought someone more durable like Eddie Chambers but Monte Barrett will do, I don't think Haye is going to steamroll over him like alot of people think, I believe Haye will get a nice challenge from Barrett.

It will be an interesting measuring stick that is for sure. I just hope Barrett doesn't get startched too early, so we can really get a feel for just how effective he will actually be at heavyweight.

Yeh its gonna suck if its over in 30 seconds from a punch or two cause like you said we still wont know what the hell he has to offer. I have a real bad feeling that he will fade in the mid/late rounds if pushed.....but then again the heavies out there suck

I don't think it's completely out of the question that Haye gets starched in the first round. Goes without saying, I wouldn't bet on it, but with his chin vulnerabilities, and Barrett's decent punch, you never know. Hopefully it lasts a couple rounds and we get some answers regarding Haye.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised either if Monte sparked Haye early. When he's on, Monte is a pretty decent fighter, and can punch. I thought he did well against Valuev and stunned him pretty good.

It should be very exciting, because I have a feeling Haye will try to blow him out early to look as impressive as he possibly can and create more hype. It's highly possible that with Barrett's shaky chin and average defense, he does get KO'ed early. I'm picking Haye TKO3, but everything from Haye KO1 to Barrett early KO, Barrett late TKO, Haye late TKO, Haye decision, Barrett decision is realistic here. Can't wait for the fight even though it's not very meaningful.. Barrett tends to get very motivated for big fights and not so motivated for smaller ones, that's why he was stopped by Couser last year. You can count on him getting up for this 100%. |
