If You Weren't a Boxing Fan, Just What The Hell Would You Be Doing with Yourself?

Well I am into other sports, especially basketball and baseball, so I would probably follow them a bit closer. I still wouldn't post on any basketball forums or anything though. I have tried and it just doesn't do it for me. I would maybe play more video games though.....I got my ps3 but I use it more for watching boxing dvds than anything else already, just like my ps2 .

So in all honesty.....I have no clue, but definitely something less worthwhile to me

In fact most of the time I'm doing something else boxing is never far from the mind. I make lists of fighters at work. Potential h2h matchups circle around my brain constantly. And its been like this for years, on and off at least.

I guess I could watch MMA, but it isn't as pure of a sport as boxing is to me, and the guys participating in it aren't the type of personalities that make boxing intriguing. It also doesn't have the history.

The highlighted parts of your post ring very true with me as well. Now as for what I would do if I wasn`t so into boxing, I`d just probably read more books. I`m an avid reader as it is, so if I spent less time on the net and watching fight films I would likely just read more.

It depends really, lately it has been boxer bios and war related books, other times it could be fiction or history related reading, other times it could be about something else. What kind of books do you prefer? Or are you pretty much the same as I?

It just depends, a lot of political and geographical books. Right now, a book called "Memoirs" by the Chilean poet Pablo Neruda. Before that "Back On The Road" by Che Guevara, and before that an excellent book called "Over the Edge of the World" about Magellan's circumnavigation around the earth.

I really recommend the third one to you if you have time to scoop it up. Its a wild story.

Probably one of my top 5 books ever. This damn girl borrowed it and I havent gotten it back. A little different from the other books you've listed but it seems like you love latin literature.

Its written by a dominican novelist/poet. Its 6 stories, semi-autobiographical, and simply phenomenal, and a very easy read. You'd probably finish it in a day, if not two.

I had a student teacher in 12th grade, and we clicked. I gave him my favorite book, "Manchild in the Promised Land" by Claude Brown as a gift, and he gave me a thank you note and gave me a list of 5 books to check out and I loved them all.

Nice. I saw "Sould on Ice" once and thought about reading it. It was a small paper back if I remember right. Over the break I will check out "Drown". Thanks.
