Default Enzo Calzaghe hints that Joe will continue on

It looks like Joe will keep on fighting, or at least not make a decision yet. I am biased, so of course I would love to see Kessler get a rematch with Joe, but it is very unlikely, so, hopefully it is Dawson or Johnson?

If Joe wants to make the whole world happy...He'd fight Dawson and prove everyone wrong about his tendencies to "pick and choose" which I honestly don't agree with lol...

I still feel that Joe will hang up the gloves - he has nothing more to prove, and I don't think anyone will put 20 mil to get a fight with him.

This retirement is looking more and more like Mayweather's retirement after the DLH fight to me. In the back of his mind, Calzaghe still wants to fight some of the names out there, but right now he just wants to be left alone and have all of the choices laid out in front of him. I will be a little surprised if Joe isn't back in the ring in 2009.

You might be right. Enzo has the ability to talk out the other side of his mouth at times.

I was looking around for news when I found that article, and was on Joe Calzaghe's website, and on the front page there is an article on how Chad Dawson wants Calzaghe. I found it weird how his official website would post what Chad Dawson said on a UK radio show. And now this article. Almost as if they are already in the works or hyping it up.

We probably wont officially know for another month or so.

HBO will make an offer Joe won't refuse. Calzaghe is officialy the man and will get anything he wants. The fight will sellout in Wales, so HBO will break even. I think Joe can make around 20-30 mill for this fight.

Remember joe promotes himself and PPV sales in Europe will be good. Also if promoted right he can do well in the US. That means 24/7 and make Dawson the American Dream

Yup, he just wants to wait for them to get a little bit older first.

I want him to hang them up - if he beats dawson - people wants the hopkins rematch, or kessler rematch. he beats hopkins - people want dawson/kessler. he beats kessler - he gets stick for not rematching hopkins or fighting dawson. like mayweather - their hearts arent in boxing - in that case, i want them to retire. they're currently only going to be fighting to shut someone up (see hatton/mayweather) and if dawson starts opening his mouth to get joe in the ring, it'd be the same situation.

Yeah, I'm sure it'll benefit Calzaghe if he waits to fight Dawson.

If he beats Dawson he really doesn't need to do anything else.. he could retire an undefeated ATG and no reasonable boxing fans will ever be able to talk shit about how he was a "protected, hyped euro fighter". They can't even do that now IMO, but a Dawson win would seal him as a top 100 ATG.
