Like the historic unification at super fly two weeks ago this fight has it's own significance, the first ever unification fight on Canadian soil. Admittedly I don't know a lot about these two fighters so who do people fancy to take home the belts?
One other thing, does anyone know if this is going to be on TV? |

Saw Militor fight over here in England, on TV that is, against michael Hunter, good solid operator, havent seen anything of him since though, so I cant comment on his performances. Havent seen anything of Caballero to be honest, I might have done, but at least dont remember. I like Molitor though, he has all the tools to be a solid champ for a long time I feel

I can't believe the odds were pretty much even when they came out for this fight today. Caballero doesn't have much of a chance IMO. He's extremely sloppy in many ways, his power is overrated, his talent isn't very impressive, and he's not intelligent enough in the ring to give Molitor huge problems. He's been able to get some wins over a lot of C levels and one B- (Ponce De Leon who he matched up with very well) because of his freakish size, awkward style, and ability to relax well when fighting, but now he is finally meeting not only a solid boxer, but one that has good handspeed, at least a pretty solid chin, and ability to handle sloppy pressure well. I think Molitor will take advantage of the many mistakes he makes and school him. He has pretty good pop and some power, so it's not out of the question that he could hurt Caballero, who's been down, hurt, and knocked out during his career. I'm not sure if Molitor would stop him if he got him hurt though, because he's not a great finisher and tends to be too safety-first sometimes. There's no way Caballero will win this on the cards, he has to stop Molitor and I doubt he will be able to do it. He simply lacks power and skill. The one thing I could imagine is Molitor getting overwhelmed by his size and wild punches, panicking a bit, and getting caught with something, but the chances of that are very small. Molitor will make Caballero fight extra tentatively after running into his counters and jabs. Cordoba is the Panamanian SBW I would rather see Molitor in the ring.. it should still be an entertaining fight though. It might be Molitor's coming out fight to American TV.. I think he's a bit overlooked in the division and he has the possibility to be the best Canada-based fighter (better than Bute) if his chin and toughness turns out fine.
BTW, I found a video of Caballero rapping on youtube when searching for his fights: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] Sounds better than Floyd's at least.

I'm canadian so I have had an opportunity to watch Molitor's last 4 title defences on national television and this kid is definitely the most underrated champ in the extremely talented super bantamweight division. For those of you who don't know too much about him, Molitor is extremely talented (good defence, solid punch, doesn't tend to panic under pressure and is usually pretty relaxed), however, he isn't the most exciting fighter to watch because of his cautious fighting style. From the first time I saw Molitor fight upto his most recent title defence at the end of August I can say that he has improved drastically and from what I hear he is taking this fight very very seriously, and if he can overcome his nerves I think this is his fight to win.

I've seen a little glimse of both. Seen Caballero's ugly fight with Lacierva. Just by looking at resume, I'll be picking Caballero By KO. Don't know much about Molitor, all I hear is he is boring fighter. That's enough for me to pick Caballero. by TKO rd 9th.

I think it'll be a more entertaining fight than some believe. Very happy with Showtime for picking it up. |
