Licata was a very game 23 year old fighter the night he was picked apart by Monzon. He had an educated and fairly quick left hand and was even catching Monzon with some very good right hands as well. His chin was rock solid and he was a determined fighter to say the least. He got up from the last knockdown he suffered and at that time was catching a real beating before a great stoppage by the referee.
