Damn I hope that the insider is wrong, because Kessler people have said that that they won't let Kessler fight Dawson because Dawson is too big physically. So who else is out there for Dawson to fight?

Hop and Diacuonu probably and I hope the insider is wrong also. Honestly I dont think he needs Dawson, but if Dawson was an HBO fighter this would be made easily. It would have been demanded

I can understand where he is coming from. The man gets no credit either way. People said that Lacy would kill him, he dominates Lacy and gets no credit. People just turn around and say Lacy wasn't that good to begin with. People said that Kessler as well. Same story, second verse. Two very good undefeated Champions.... Joe dominated them both, and people find it hard to give him credit. Then, he beats Hopkins and Roy Jones back to back and can't get credit for that either. So... if he fights undefeated fighters... he gets no respect afterwards and less money. If he beats older established draws and boxing stars, he gets no credit... but he gets more money. Seems like an easy choice.

Widdow, welcome to the forum bro...but you still got that "esb" mindstate, on here, Calzaghe gets MOOOOORE than enough respect! BTW, the point of the post and replies are...who is he going to fight that makes any sense? And who is Dawson going to fight now that Joe is out of the question? |

This is just rubbish. Calzaghe got HEAPS of credit for beating Lacy and Kessler, how did you think he got his spot in the p4p lists??? Certainly wasn't by beating Manfredo. If anything, the only thing that detracted from the Lacy win, was his poor form afterwards. Everyone in boxing knew that Kessler was arguably the toughest fight of his entire career. A victory that was extremely highly regarded. Beating Hop and Roy doesn't get much credit because they are so damn old and past prime. He should have been fighting these guys 5 years ago, not now once they have clearly slipped. Especially Roy Jones Jr, that was just disgraceful. Anyway, in regards to Dawson, i can't say it surprised me that kess and Joe want no part of him. The guy is very very high risk, and at this stage not worth the relatively small reward. |

I disagree with everyone here - he doesnt get enough credit at all - but with amsty gone - I know i'll be fighting a battle of me vs the world, so I'm not going to bother (it's an argument that never ends - every undefeated fighter is criticised, no matter what!!!
I think I know what that bet is ....
