The one knock on Berto seems to be how his chin is going to hold up. I for one feel people are selling him far short on this, as he has only been down or even hurt really once in his career, and that was vs Cosme Rivera, who may not be the biggest puncher, but isnt exactly feather fisted (22 KOs in 31 wins...). Plus, Collazo himself will never be confused for Julian Jackson either. I expect Berto to control it from the outset...with Collazo stealing a couple rounds here and there. Berto wide UD...10-2 or 9-3. Cant see it being much closer than that, as Collazo really doesnt have the power, or movement to keep Andre off of him. Last edited by sues2nd; 11-26-2008 at 03:47 AM. Agree with your overall assesment of the fight. Will be a cracker for sure, can't wait. I'm a big Berto fan, i think he has gone under the radar with a lot of boxing fans. Mind you, 147 is a very tough division to break into for a prospect. Lots of challenges out there at the moment. |

DAMN! Why the beef with Collazo?

Well he thinks he's a better fighter then what he actually is and to top it off I believe during the buildup to the Trinidad/Winky fight he said that he never liked Tito as a fighter, and when Cotto moved up to 147 he actually logged on to the Cotto forum and claimed that Cotto was ducking him and that he would send him back down to 140 like he did Hatton.

A half year ago I was picking Collazo in this matchup, but now after watching both of them more I'm going with Berto by decision in a fight a lot more competitive than Berto-Forbes. Collazo's style will create problems for Berto IMO.. the only question here is what kind of shape he'll be in. If he's 100%, I think it'll be a very competitive fight and I wouldn't be shocked to see him beat Berto. I also think Collazo will be able to stun him and Berto will show a lot more respect for him than any opponents in the past. It's a very interesting matchup and a great test/learning fight for Berto.

And the nervous way he reacts to punches/pressure in general should be a big sign that he most likely has chin problems. He has a panicky type of personality.. not nearly as bad as someone like Dirrell, but it's still an issue and having a very leaky defense doesn't help.
