Calzaghe says show him the loot and he will fight again

Somebody besides HBo better put some good cash up. I hope a Dawson fight can happen. To me that's the only fight ant LHW that means something.

I think if Dawson fights Hopkins and wins a fairly wide decision, the Calzaghe fight will be on. It sure looks like Calzaghe is willing to come back though at some point next year, just needs the motivation to do it.

Hopkins is in the same position as Calzaghe. He wants a big money fight. Unfortunately for Dawson, he just doesn't provide that.

I can see Calzaghe-Dawson happening in 2010 if Dawson keeps winning, becomes a bigger name, and gets a higher ranking on the P4P lists. I don't know if I would favor Calzaghe to beat Dawson after such a long layoff though, would have to go with Dawson there.

Agreed on all accounts. Well over a year off from the ring wouldn't be a good thing for Calzaghe.

Joe isnt that stupid - if it happens, it happens next year... He's almost 37 - there's little left for him to prove, he's looking at ways of cashing out while maximising legacy - so basically both bhop and dawson have to fight to get him as quickly as possible. If he doesnt have a fight lined up for before April - I dont think he'll be back...

He could be sitting around a year from now, (looking at Dawson getting a lot of recognition for beating fighters like Hopkins, dominating Johnson in a rematch, maybe beating Kessler) getting the itch to get back into the ring. Many fighters have done it and it's not to hard to see Joe doing it too.

Fair enough - but, I cant see joe risking his record - when he's nearly 38, a year out of the game - when the odds would be really against him... right now - i'd have him to beat dawson handily... in a years time... by way of his adaptability, he'd still be difficult to beat, but you'd expect his skills to have seriously eroded - especially his stamina... I cant see it if he's been out that long, not to risk something he's fought for 17 odd years...
