In the month of September we have 3 great match ups that all happen to takeplace at 135...
September 6..Juan Diaz vs. Michael Katsidis My Prediction I have Diaz by 10th round stoppage due to his high workrate. September 13..Joel Casamayor vs. Juan Marquez My Prediction This fight has been very difficult for me to call but my instincts is telling me Casa will win it by close UD. September 13..Nate Campbell vs. Joan Guzman My Prediction Another fight where I'm struggling to pick a winner but I say Joan by SD. So myboxingforum what's your predictions and analysis of these 3 lightweight matchups? |

I'm struggling to make a pick when it comes to Marquez and Casamayor. Marquez has more left in the tank after clearly beating Barrera, dominating Juarez, and arguably beating Pacquiao. Nevertheless, Casamayor's style is all wrong for him because it forces Marquez to play the aggressor. Marquez has always had some trouble avoiding straight left hands and I don't say this just from what I've seen in the Pacquiao fights. Jaca was landing that shot early, too.
I'm banking a lot on Guzman's stamina improving with a move up in weight. Let's say it gets even worse though. Then Guzman will be dealt with the first loss of his career. |

That's a very good point. I expect Marquez to get dropped at some point in the fight when he's caught by Casamayor in the middle of a combination. For all of his technical prowess and technique, his head stays relatively stationary and a lot of guys have clippped him right on the chin.

Diaz TKO 10
Campbell UD 12 JMM UD12 - For one I think GBP wants a fight with JMM-PAC again. But I think Casa is done. IMO he was losing to Katsidis, but a great punch ended that one quick. He was also lost to Jose Armondo Santa Cruz by a shut out and lookes will bad. Plus he is real old and not the fighter he once was. JMM wants it bad and with his skills I see him winning this fight by UD on my wedding day. I also don't think Casa hits harder than Pac and I might be wrong. |

Yeah I will be missing it and probably wont get to see it until that next week. This when my connect will send it to me. I hate watching replays because of the ring walks not being shown and lack of interviews sometimes.

Diaz t/ko 8
Guzman tko 7 Casa/JMM is a very tough pick for me right now. My heart says JMM but my head says Casa. With the great odds on JMM I will surely be placing a few small bets on him, but god knows that when it goes to the cards he will be screwed.....again. Fuck it, ill go JMM by SD Last edited by cardstars; 08-17-2008 at 08:14 PM. |

Right but JMM is the better counterpuncher in my book. Very close and tough fight to call, but at the end of the day JMM is nowhere near shot while Casa is arguably already there. Casa is still cagey, but he isn't sharp enough to outpoint JMM imo. JMM will be beating him to the punch and will have the better stamina. If I had to guess I think that rounds 10-12 will determine the winner of this fight, and Casa will be very tired while JMM will still be in the great shape he always is.
