Default Rank the 4 80's Greats In 3 Different Ways (Duran, Leonard, Hearns, Hagler)

1. Resume
2. H2H
3. Personal Preference

Resume
Leonard
Duran (is this a mistake? Leonard has 4 great wins, but Duran is deep across classes and temporally)
Hagler
Hearns

H2H
Leonard
Duran
Hearns
Hagler

Personal Preference
Leonard
Hearns
Hagler
Duran

Default Re: Rank the 4 80's Greats In 3 Different Ways (Duran, Leonard, Hearns, Hagler)

Resume
Roberto Duran
Sugar Ray Leonard
Marvin Hagler
Thomas Hearns

Head to Head
Roberto Duran @ 135
Sugar Ray Leonard @ 147
Marvin Hagler @ 160
Thomas Hearns @ 154/147

Personal Preference
Roberto Duran
Marvin Hagler
Thomas Hearns
Sugar Ray Leonard

I'm torn on the resume part too. Leonard has the wins over Duran, Hearns, Benitez, and Hagler with his second set of wins being Kalule, Lalonde, Green, Finch, etc. Duran's best four wins (Leonard, De Jesus x 2, Buchanan) don't measure up to Leonard's, but his resume is much deeper from top to bottom when you factor in guys like Marcel, Kobyashi, Ishimatsu, Mamby, Cuevas, Moore, Barkley, and Cuevas. I'll side with Duran becaue I weigh depth heavily when assessing resumes and in his case, I believe that depth edges out Leonard's quality at the top.

With personal preference, I ordered them 1 to 4, but I'm a big fan of them all.

Resume is hard, i'll go this way though-

Leonard
Duran
Hagler edges Hearns

H2H- well actually, in each of their prime weight classes, they are of the most difficult propositions to overcome ever imo, mwaning Hearns at 154 though.

Duran @135
Leonard @147
Hagler @ 160
Hearns @154

My preference as in who i think was greater and TRYING to be non-biased

Duran
Leonard
Hagler
Hearns

The resume thing is hard but i too picked Leonard becaudse of the big ones. I also think that at 154 Hearns was improved.

It's hard to pick between Leonard and Duran here. I think Duran was stronger over a longer peroid of time, but Leonard has the better single wins.

H2H
1. Leonard
2. Duran
3. Hagler
4. Hearns

Personal Preference
I can't pick here.

The personal preference section, as you can see i did in terms of who i personally rate higher greatness wise. But in who i like the best, i would have Duran number 1, my fave all time, then Hagler, then most likely Leonard Hearns, but not sure with that part.

So why is Duran lowest head to head because of his size? At 135 he was arguably better than any of them. And if you mean when comparing the 4 head to head, why Leonard above Hagler? You really think he'd have beaten a prime Hagler?

Of course b/c of his size. The question is head to head, not pound for pound. He is 1-3 against those guys as well.

And do you really think Hagler would've beaten a prime Leonard?

The answer is obvious enough head to head, as they all fought each of the others. So it's pretty obvious the question was referring to their head to head potential at their best.

Yes. At MW? Absolutely.
