Sure he can if given the oppurtunity especially given the fact that Diaz was roughed up in his last fight, but I think Diaz high workrate will have Katsidis flustered that he won't be able to get off a big shot.

Yes he can hurt him, but the oppurtunity's will not be frequent as Diaz is much quicker and Kats is slow and has to deal with Diaz's constant offence. No doubt he'll get some bombs in here and there, but with his bad skin and own shaky chin, I suppose it's more relevance to ask if he can last the distance?
Campbell's speed+timing+combination punching skill allowed him to land on Diaz in high amount, where good fighters in Freitas and Julio couldn't do so. Katsidis being slower and more limited in both offense and defence than both of those guys... it's a very slim chance of him hurting Juan seriously. Expect an entertaining fight though, wouldn't be surprised if Kats stunned Diaz good at some point and provided drama, but I expect an outright domination. |

I actually think Katsidis can hurt Diaz. Simply because Diaz has little to no movement, and Katsidis can swarm him without worrying about being countered to death from great positioning/footwork. The problem is that I don't think Katsidis can last long enough to ko Diaz, who appears to have a solid chin and obviously great stamina. I think Katsidis gets stopped in the 9-10 range, or loses a decision

yes, he can hurt diaz..he did hurt casamayor despite his defensive capablities and diaz on the other hand has little movement and about an average defense..diaz is a tough chinned solid fighter though and i believe he can take diaz punches.

Katsidis has enough power to hurt Diaz for sure, but wether he will be able to land often enough to make it matter is the real question. I`d advise Katsidis to go to the body right from the start, Diaz has a soft midsection and Nate slowed him down considerably as the fight progressed with those wicked hooks and uppercuts to his body. If Katsidis can do the same he just might pull it off, but I think Juan`s relentless, smothering attack will see him win the fight. Katsidis can`t fight worth a damn going backwards and if Diaz can keep pushing him back and landing consistently to both head and body he will likely stop the Aussie within 8-9 entertaining rounds.

that peakaboo defense that diaz comes in with will make it hard for Kat to hurt him frequently but Kat definitely has very heavy hands, that guy is very solid for 135lbs. What Kat needs to do right off the bat is bash diaz to the body in the 1st couple rounds to mess up Diaz' rythmn a bit. That should open things up. If Kat gets tired by head hunting all night and wasting punches then its going to be Diaz fight for the taking.
